1. Who we are
Cognitive AI ("Cognitive AI", "we", "us" or "our") is an educational technology platform based in Lagos, Nigeria, available at cognitiveai.com.ng. We provide computer-based test (CBT) practice, past-question style exercises, AI tutoring, flashcards, syllabus resources, Live Tests, study groups, duels and leaderboards for students preparing for JAMB (UTME), WAEC (WASSCE), NECO and similar examinations.

2. Acceptance and eligibility
By signing up, signing in, or using any part of Cognitive AI, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
Cognitive AI is designed for secondary school students, school leavers and other learners. If you are under 18 years old, you confirm that your parent or guardian has agreed to you using the platform and to these Terms. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising the activity of minors and for any payments made on their behalf.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, including your real name and a working email address. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
Each account is for one person only. You may not share, sell or transfer your account, and you may not create multiple accounts to get extra free questions, extra trials or an unfair advantage on leaderboards. Tell us immediately if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
4. Educational disclaimer and independence
Cognitive AI is an independent study platform. We are not owned by, affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or any school or government body. Exam names are used only to describe the examinations our content helps you prepare for.
Our questions, explanations, syllabus copies and practice tests are preparation aids. While we work hard to keep them accurate and current, we do not guarantee that any question will appear in a real examination, that our content is free of errors, or that using the platform will lead to a particular score, grade or admission. Always confirm official dates, rules and syllabus updates with the relevant examination body.
5. AI tutors (Daniel, @python and others)
Cognitive AI includes AI study assistants such as Daniel and the @python group-chat assistant. These assistants generate answers automatically using third-party artificial intelligence models. AI-generated content can sometimes be incomplete, outdated or wrong, so you should check important facts against your textbooks, teachers or official sources.
You must not use the AI assistants to cheat in any real examination, to produce harmful, hateful, sexual or illegal content, or to attempt to break or misuse the platform. We may limit or block AI access for accounts that abuse it.
6. Community, groups and duels
Group chats, Connect duels, leaderboards and other community features must be used respectfully. You must not post insults, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual content, spam, scam links, advertisements, or leaked or stolen examination materials. You must not impersonate another person, an administrator or one of our verified AI assistants.
Duels, Live Tests and leaderboards must be played fairly. Using bots, scripts, shared accounts, multiple devices or any other trick to manipulate scores is prohibited. We may remove content, reset scores, remove badges or suspend accounts that break these rules, with or without prior notice.
7. Free access, trials and subscriptions
Some features are free. Free accounts have usage limits, including a limited number of CBT questions per subject, which we may change from time to time. Premium features, full question access and the blue verification badge are available to users with an approved paid plan or an active trial.
Free trials are limited to one per person and one per device. Trial codes are limited in number and may stop working once the limit is reached. Any attempt to obtain more than one trial — for example by creating new accounts or resetting a device — may result in the trial and the account being cancelled.
Payments are currently made by bank transfer. After paying, you must submit the payer's name and details in the app so an administrator can confirm the payment. Access is granted once the payment is verified, usually within a reasonable time during business hours. Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira (₦) and may change; any change will not affect a plan you have already paid for.
Because premium access is a digital service delivered immediately after approval, payments are generally non-refundable once access has been granted. If you paid by mistake, paid twice, or your payment was not approved, contact us and we will review the case fairly in line with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
8. Live Tests
Live Tests are timed tests published by Cognitive AI. Some are free and some carry a price. Each test shows its start time, duration and rules. Once a timed test begins, the timer will not pause, and answers submitted after time runs out may not count. Free tests may be shared by link; paid tests may only be taken by users who have paid for them.
9. Intellectual property
The Cognitive AI name, logo, design, software, curated question collections, explanations, flashcard formats, images and other materials belong to Cognitive AI or our licensors and are protected by the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and other laws. You may use them only for your personal, non-commercial study.
You may not copy, resell, republish, scrape, or redistribute our content, or build a competing product from it, without our written permission. Content you post (such as chat messages or flashcards you create) remains yours, but you give us a licence to store, display and process it so the platform can work.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Cognitive AI available at all times, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may be unavailable during maintenance, network outages, power failures or problems with third-party providers. We may add, change or remove features at any time to improve the platform.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Nigerian law, Cognitive AI is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost admission opportunities, lost data, or examination outcomes. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Cognitive AI and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, misuse payments, cheat, or put other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If it cannot be resolved within 30 days, it may be brought before the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and may notify you in the app. Continuing to use Cognitive AI after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
